On 21 August 2023, an agreement on the 2024 minimum wage was reached between representatives of the trade unions and employers’ bodies during a meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the Slovak Republic. The monthly minimum wage will rise from €700 to €750 (over 12 months), i.e., an increase of 7.14% in one year. Notwithstanding, Slovakia remains one of only 9 European Union countries with a minimum wage still below €800.
