Slovak Statistical Office announced that real wages in the nation's economy grew last year at a faster rate than work productivity. (Ref. 06236)
The wages rose by 6.3 % while work productivity in 2005 rose only by 3.7 %. If this was a long run trend it might result in inflation pressures but so far there are no negative signs, according to the Statistical Office. In 2005, the average nominal gross wage increased to 17 274 SKK (about 460 euros).
