Answering to the social priorities setted by the new government (see our article n°06811), the Slovak Confederation of Trade Unions demands maximum working hours for employees and limitation of the use of fixed term contract. (Ref. 06829)
The Confederation asked the government to limit the working time to 48 hours per week even in case of multiple employers. The current Labour Code only sets maximum working time per employer and not employee, which allows an employee to have multiple jobs and work over 48 hours per week. Slovak unions welcomed the new government’s statement released at the beginning of August and call for more cooperation and strengthening of so-called social dialogue (see our article n006811).
