In the first quarter of 2006, there were 12,497 available positions on average. According to the State Statistics Office, the level of available positions amounted to 1.6 per cent, which represents 0.3 percentage point or 2091 extra positions compared to the same period in 2005. Approximately 40 per cent of all available positions were offered by small companies (that employ up to nine people) which however employ only one quarter of all workers in Slovenia.
