The social partners reached consensus on the content of the Social Agreement 2015-2016 that was recently published in the Official Gazette of the RS. The Social Agreement contains various goals and measures, in several fields (finance, sustainable economic development, public sector, health care, pension system, implementation of EU cohesion policy, education, rule of law, new launch of investment.) including the field of employment and salaries, which is summarized below by Bostjan Kavsek, LL.M., attorney-at-law in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The social partners (government, employers, and trade unions) concluded the fifth social agreement since the county’s independence in 1991. The previous social agreement covered the period 2007 – 2009. No social agreement was in place throughout the period of economic and financial crisis.
Labour Market. In the labour market section, the Social Agreement sets out the following goals to:
- raise the employment rate (currently 75%) for those between 20 and 64;
