SNCF: signs amendments to the SNCF EWC agreement

On 29 June 2017, the French rail company signed its first amendments to the 2012 agreement that established its European Works Council.

With no major departures from the original 2012 agreement (c.f. article No. 120724) detailed below are the forthcoming changes:




  • Regarding interaction between the various bodies, this new version intends that ‘following discussions with the secretary, the Chairman determines how consultations occur between the EWC and the relevant national employee representative bodies.’

  • The number of EWC representatives per Member State outside of France (the major entity in terms of staffing) is now def
