On 11 February, the Korean government approved several decrees related to parenthood. From 23 February, parents will be able to take up to 18 months of parental leave each, instead of the previous 12 months, bringing the total duration of leave to three years when both parents take it. Leave can now be split into four periods, rather than three at present, and may be taken at any time until the child is eight years old.
