The Parliament adopted, Tuesday 9 May , a law aimed at restricting subcontracting in the construction industry. The text will limit to three the maximum number of intermediaries. It will also oblige building companies to employ part of their employees under a permanent employment contract. This measure should notably contribute to improve the industrial accident rate, one of the highest of Europe. (Réf. 06466)
The law should come into effect by the end of the year. It provides that a company will not be able to delegate its activity to more than three levels . And possibly a fourth “in the event of cause beyond control”. For each project, companies will have to keep up to date a precise register of the tasks which they sub-contracted to other companies.
