Spain: agreement on the new collective agreement in the construction sector

The representatives of the national construction confederation (CNC) and of the MCA-UGT and FECOMA-CCOO union organizations signed, on January 20, the 2012-2016 agreement.  The end of the debates was characterized by unusual disagreements among employers.  In the end, the situation was unfrozen at the last minute because the labor market reform promised by the government is coming soon.  The negotiators decided to ‘harden’ national and provincial agreements as the reform in the offing aims to encourage company agreements.
