A coordinating prosecutor post, specialist in accidents at work, was just created in Spain. He is in charge of the fights' coordination against infringing the workers' safety and of boosting the active policies in a workers' protection’s matter. (Ref. 06503)

Juan Manuel de Oña, first magistate appointed to this post, claimed, on May 18th, his intention to closely collaborate with the unions and managment and to develop actions carried out in collaboration with different parts of the country that are relevant concerning the subject. In 2005, Spain has counted 906 836 accidents at work, with 990 fatal accidents among them, according to the Ministry of Employment.
