The FeS-UGT and Comfia-CCOO unions blame the employers’ organization for using blackmail by agreeing to sign the new collective agreement only if unions accept a new layoff arrangement. Employers want to introduce “express layoff” which would be justified by the termination of the service provision contract and with 20 days of compensation per year worked (against 45 days in the event of unfair layoffs). The employers’ organization warned that if unions refused to sign the arrangement, the sector’s businesses wouldn’t include wage updates linked to 2010 inflation and wouldn’t pay the piled up arrears.
