The management of Ford’s plant Almussafes, near Valencia, and the UGT and CCOO unions signed a five-year draft competitiveness agreement to help secure the group’s industrial future.  The agreement brings back a night shift and creates 1,000 direct jobs.  (Ref.  130270)

The 2014-2018 agreement takes over from the previous agreement (2009-2013) which led to the investments needed to upgrade the plant and improve its competitiveness. Since 2009, the factory has received €425 million and regained its competitive strength (see articles No. 090695 and 090965). The text was ratified by the representatives of the two majority unions, UGT and CCOO, on April 17, and employees will give their vote on April 23.
