The new collective agreement for the Spanish construction sector will include two annexes designed to guarantee equal treatment and combat harassment and violence in the workplace against LGBTI+ people. The new measures will apply to all companies in the sector, regardless of their size.
The employers’ association and the main trade unions in Spain’s construction sector, which employs 1.4 million people in the country, have agreed to include a specific protocol to combat discrimination against the LGBTI+ community in their collective agreement. This is a “decisive step in the defence of the rights of the LGBTI community”, according to the National Confederation of Construction Industry (CNC).
