On 26 February, Spanish Labour Minister Yolanda Díaz, alongside the CCOO and UGT trade unions and the National LGBTQ+ Federation, ratified a model framework agreement for businesses. This protocol aims to guarantee respect, inclusion, and protection for transgender employees, providing support before, during, and after their transition.
“What we are signing today is more than a protocol; it represents the country we want—a diverse Spain rooted in solidarity,” stated Díaz, describing the document as a “groundbreaking” tool for achieving “genuine equality”.
