On 7 January, the Spanish government proposed increasing the gross monthly minimum wage to €1,221 over 14 months, or a total of €17,014 gross per year. Spain's ministry of labour has informed the social partners of its intention to raise the minimum wage to €1,221 gross per month. This increase is expected to be approved by the Council of Ministers in the coming weeks and immediately enacted by decree, with retroactive effect from 1 January 2026.
