Dutch brewing giant Heineken has been testing hybrid work arrangements in its Spanish offices, whereby employees can spread 16 hours of remote work across the week at their convenience. The hybrid work model has been designed after an initial trial with 77 employees and is now being tested on a large scale. If this second trial phase proves successful, the model will become the norm across Heineken’s Spanish operations.
The idea of implementing a hybrid work model emerged during negotiations over the group’s new collective agreement in Spain, which commenced in December 2020. “In the knowledge that there is no perfect formula, Heineken Spain has decided to create it in collaboration with employees,” the company says.
