presented to Parliament his austerity program providing for a cut in public spending, up to 5 billion euros in 2010 and 10 billion euros in 2011. The measures presented provide for a 5% wage cut for civil servants, a freeze on pensions and cuts into social expenditures. The latter cuts are rejected by the trade unions, that said there could be mobilizations. (Ref. 100386)
