Spain: lower social contributions for businesses presenting “mobility and road safety programs” for their employees

Reduced contributions for good practices.  The agreement was signed by the Minister of Home Affairs, Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba, in charge of road safety, and the Minister of Labor, Valeriano Gomez, in the presence of representatives from the CEOE and CEPYME employers’ organizations, and from the UGT and Workers’ Commissions unions, on March 1st.  Signing this agreement is in line with Royal Decree No. 404/2010 of March 31st, which came into force on April 1, 2010 on the prevention of risks and occupational diseases, which establishes a system of reduced contributions for businesses which help reduce industrial accidents.  This decree introduces a system of malus/bonus, in the form of reduced contributions to reward businesses which use efficient means to prevent accidents and occupational diseases.
