The government has announced a 5% increase in the minimum wage for 2024. The wage level goes up from €1,080 to €1,134 gross over 14 months, equivalent to €1,323 per month over 12 months. This measure, which will be applied retroactively from 1 January 2024, was agreed with the country’s main trade unions, the CCOO and UGT. It comes after an inflation rate of 3.3% in 2023.

Worth noting: this increase is part of the plan of Pedro Sanchez’s left-wing government to raise the minimum wage to 60%...
