These separate meetings between the Minister and the social partners took place on Friday, November 27, after the Council of Ministers approved the government’s new economic program (ley de economia sostenible). Elena Salgado’s priorities are: a program to encourage young people’s employment and the introduction of the “German system” allowing businesses to cut working time and wages accordingly, compensated by public funds. The current working time reduction system lies on a heavy administrative procedure.
