Spain: new ‘active employment support strategy’ for 2025-2028

On 15 July, the Spanish government approved the new 'active employment support strategy', which sets out the main priorities of the national employment system (SNE). The plan aims to enhance the guidance and personalised support given to job seekers, with a view to improving their integration into the labour market. Priority will be given to young people, those in long-term unemployment, people with disabilities, migrants and the Roma population.

The new 2025-2028 strategy reaffirms the SNE’s missions in terms of guidance, training and dissemination of employment opportunities, with an emphasis on the inclusion of vulnerable groups, equal opportunities and the promotion of entrepreneurship. It focuses on the enhancement of skills through specific support for more effective career guidance and greater participation in training.
