A new parental leave allowance to be introduced in Spain will be paid, according to statements made by Joaquin Perez-Rey, the secretary of state for labour and social economy. The latest update rows back on earlier announcements, which indicated that the eight weeks of parental leave would be unpaid. This new measure transposes the European Union directive of 2019 and forms part of the so-called Family Law, a draft of which was approved by Spain’s Council of Ministers on 22 November 2022....
