Spain’s Labor Minister has announced a raft of new labor reforms, the main one of which is the implementation of individual compensation funds for employment termination, which would clear the way to instigating the ‘Austrian Model’ whereby employees manage how to allocate compensation amounts towards training or career change opportunities, thought the employees' professional careers. Other changes intend to boost collaboration by extending paternity leave to four weeks and via commitment by businesses to allow for the working day to conclude at 18.00 hrs.
The government is preparing new labor reforms, announced Fatima Bañez, the Minister for Employment and Social Security, although neither details nor any schedule for progressing with the draft law were given.
