Spain: two CCOO federations merger to create a large industry sector federation

The CCOO's federal council gave the green light, on April 24, to the fusion of two of its large federations, the metallurgy federation (FM-CCOO) and the textile and chemistry industries federation, thus creating a powerful industry sector federation representing over two million workers. Services (transportation/communication and public administration) also intend to unite. These centralization processes within the CCOO contribute to the central will to "rationalize the union's federative structure". (Ref. 070375)
