The negotiations on the draft Directive relating to the portability of supplementary pension rights started within the EU Council of Ministers. The discussions are due to be difficult because a certain number of technical points are blocking the delegations. The European Commission is forced to re-examine its copy (Ref. 06506)
Contents of the project. This draft Directive of 20 October 2005 aims at lifting the obstacles to workers’ mobility as regards survival, disability, and retirement pension rights provided by a complementary fund :
