…Stellantis halts production at factories in Mexico and Canada in response to increased US tariffs
On 3 April, car manufacturer Stellantis announced the temporary halted production at its assembly plants in Mexico and Canada. The reason for this is the 25% tariff imposed by the US government on imported vehicles and parts. During the closures, employees will be assigned to maintenance or training. The measures will, however, result in around 900 redundancies in several US factories.
