An agreement was reached on 17 May between the SEKO union (for service and communications employees) and the employer organisation IT&Telekomföretagen (for the telecoms and IT sectors, a member of Almega). It adds to those reached with Sveriges Ingenjörer (union of Swedish engineers) on 28 April and with Unionen (private sector workers) on 11 April. While these agreements are in keeping with the rest of the industry in terms of their pay rises, negotiations between SEKO and IT&Telekomföretagen have been tough, and a strike was narrowly avoided thanks to the intervention of mediators, who helped bring about two key advances. The agreements will be binding for 3 years, until 31 March 2020.
