Equal treatment for all workers. Both Lo and Almega are satisfied that they have been able to reach an agreement for the 60,000 workers concerned. Negotiations had been difficult because LO was calling for the same working conditions and the same benefits to apply to both ‘ordinary’ and temporary workers. Sweden: an agreement for the temporary employment sector that is in line with the Swedish model
“Difficult negotiations” recognized LO (Landsorganisationen i Sverige/ The Swedish Trade Union Confederation) when it announced on 11 May 2017 that a new agreement for the temporary employment sector had been signed with the employers’ body Almega. Set to run for three years the agreement corresponds with the provisions set in the industry agreement, and as such the trade unions are satisfied that temporary workers will be considered in the same way as ‘ordinary’ workers.
