Sweden: the agreement signed in the banking industry provides for a guaranteed wage increase over 3 years

The Finansförbundet union caused a sensation in September when it decided to terminate the agreement binding it to the BAO employers’ organization but only on the ‘remuneration’ chapter.  Observing that too many members hadn’t had a wage increase since the previous agreement was signed, it was decided that an individual wage guarantee would be negotiated and that it wouldn’t be left at employers’ option anymore.  This result was achieved via an agreement on December 10.  (Ref.  130825)

Individual guarantee designed to make up for the lack of wage increase in previous years. The leader of Finansförbundet (the banking and finance union, which represents about 30,000 employees) was satisfied when she announced, on December 10, that she had signed a new agreement with BAO (employers’ organization for banking institutions).
