In Sweden, the auto sector accounts for 15% of
the country’s exports, includes 700 companies and employs approximately 140.000
people. Some 90% of its production is exported, which risks leading to job
losses among sub-contractors.
Reducing production. The number of new vehicle
registrations plummeted in November to its lowest level in 15 years, i.e. a 36.4%
fall compared with November 2007. Utility vehicle registrations have fallen by 26.6%.
