Telenor: renews the global agreement with UNI Global Unio

On 14 February, Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor ASA signed a new global agreement with UNI Global Union that runs for three years and introduces several new provisions pertaining to equal opportunities, combatting discrimination, and treats freedom of association. The agreement covers the more than 20,000 employees in the company worldwide.

The first agreement dates back to 2013 (c.f. article No. 130047) which was renewed without change in 2015. This new version contains the following new features:

  • Further emphasise of Telenor’s neutrality on trade union establishment. The 2015 agreement already included this neutral approach and also recognised UNI’s representatives as advisors for employees that seek UNI for support in the process of establishing a local union, ‘provided that the employees are within UNI’s jurisdiction and...
