The European Commission published guides on the implementation of the UN’s Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in several sectors – temporary work, ICT, and gas and oil

In June 2011, the United Nations adopted Guiding Principles (UNGP) on Business and Human Rights.  Within the framework of its strategy to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR), the European Commission published, before the summer, three practical guides on these Principles aimed for three sectors: employment and recruitment agencies, ICT companies, and oil and gas companies. These guides should serve as references and practical guides to develop human rights related policies in these sectors’ companies.  They will also be the foundation to open constructive dialogue with other stakeholders.  (Ref.  130524)
