Aon, the UK-headquartered insurance broker, provider of reinsurance and human capital consulting organisation, announced on 7 June the launch of a carers’ leave policy, which will allow its 6,000 employees in the UK to take five days off work to care for relatives, partners or friends.
Under the new Carers’ Leave policy at Aon, the company’s UK employees will be entitled to five days of paid leave each year to care for someone close to them, who may be elderly, have a disability or illness. The allowance is available to “all employees of Aon in the UK who are providing unpaid care for relatives, partners or friends” and may be taken as full or half days, for the sake of flexibility, according to a company announcement.
