Channel 4, the UK public broadcast television service, has launched a company policy aimed at helping its female employees manage symptoms related to their periods at work, by offering greater flexibility and free period products, as well as wheat bags for pain relief.

Unveiled on 22 March, this new company policy – developed with the help of Channel 4’s gender equality employee network 4Womxn – offers women greater flexibility during their periods. In agreement with their managers, they will be able to take extra breaks, change workspaces within the office, start their working day earlier or finish it later, work shorter hours, choose not to switch on their camera on Teams and have face-to-face meetings if this is more desirable.
