In a bid to boost productivity and bridge the skills gap, the UK plans to create eleven T levels by 2022. On 11 October, the government revealed new details on the qualifications, which will revolutionise training in the country and replace 13,000 technical qualifications that already exist. Developed with the help of companies, the three first T levels – in Digital, Construction and Education and Childcare – will be available in 2020. They will mark the start of the post-Brexit era for the UK.
As promised in the last budget (see article n°10108), the UK is set to reform the training available to young people by launching the T level, an equivalent to the A level, a qualification obtained before going to university.
