On 12 March, the UK Home Office issued a statement on changes to immigration rules applicable from 9 April. It concerns skilled workers and in particular the recruitment of foreign employees in the care sector. The stated aim of these measures is to better manage legal immigration and to fill skills gaps.
In a statement published on 12 March, the UK government presented several changes to immigration regulations, including an increase in the minimum wage for hiring a skilled foreign worker. This rises from £11.90 to £12.82 gross per hour, or €15.25. The aim of this increase is to ensure that it remains above the minimum living wage, which will be raised in April 2025 to £12.21 gross per hour.
