The UAW trade unionists and representatives of General Motors were quick to reach a four-year salary agreement. No longer will salaries increase at two disparate rates, and there will be more generous bonuses than those from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
The management of General Motors has accepted a salary agreement, which extends over four years and is very similar to the agreement reached with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) (see article n°9330), but more generous. On 28 October in Detroit, the agreement was announced by Dennis Williams, the president of the United Auto Workers, with the vice-president Cindy Estrada – who was very much involved in negotiations – also present.
