Boeing's management and the representatives of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) are back around the bargaining table after the crushing defeat of the first bargaining phase. Indeed, the union gave Boeing's offer to its 22,765 to vote, and an overwhelming majority rejected it: 95.56 percent of engineers said no, while the technical unit did even better: 97.19 percent. Boeing engineering leader Mike Delaney proposed wage increases of between 2.5 and 3.5 percent annually throughout the duration of the contract (4 years). However, the union said it wasn’t enough.
