Negotiators for the United Auto Workers (UAW) union have signed a four-year wage agreement with the final of the big 3 remaining US automakers: Ford. Workers are set to receive a signing bonus of $10,000. Like with the General Motors (GM) and Fiat Chrysler (FCA) agreements, the current two-tier salary system will be phased out over a period of eight years.
Following signed agreements with both GM (c.f. article No. 9344) and FCA (c.f. article No.9330), UAW leaders have concluded a wage agreement with Ford. On 09 November local union representatives overwhelmingly approved the road map put forward for Ford. All that remains is that Ford’s 52,900 workers from the automaker’s 22 US factories vote on the agreement.
