The International Union of Machinists (IAM) at Bowing rejected the 8-year contract guaranteeing employment in exchange for major concessions in terms of retirement and health Boeing offered to make the 777X in Washington State. The machinists union massively rejected the new contract proposed by the aircraft manufacturer, Boeing, to make the future 777X in Puget Sound near Seattle, Washington. On November 13, the IAM’s 32,000 members voted against the management’s offer: 67 percent of workers said no. Therefore, they might lose production of the wings and final assembly of the new plane, with 350-400 seats, lighter and consuming less power, which will be put on the market in 2020.
