Management at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the US Department of Labor body that supervises health and safety at work announced that it would be making data supplied by employers on injuries and illnesses available on its website. Employers will be required to furnish this data from 2017.
Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Dr. David Michaels has a limited budget of $553 million plus a team of 2,000 labor inspectors to send out across the country checking on working conditions in some 8 million businesses.
