Forty–four days of strike action at the US East-Coast telecommunications giant Verizon are set to come to a close following a guarantee to create 1,500 well paid US based jobs.
Strike action by 40,000 US Verizon telecommunication workers that lasted a month and a half is expected to end at the start of the week. Both the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers unions finally came to an agreement with management over a four-year wages contract.
