The catalyst for this recent United States action against T-Mobile lies in a court ruling that declared illegal the requirement for employees who bring up sexual harassment cases to sign a confidentiality agreement. Communications Workers of America and Ver.di have launched an international campaign including a petition and a letter addressed to the German Chancellor.
The courts have recently judged as illegal, T-Mobile USA’s measures requiring employees at its two call centers in Maine and South Carolina sign confidentiality agreements surrounding cases of sexual harassment that have been raised by the T-Mobile Workers Union (c.f. article No. 7764). T-Mobile USA has previously been recognized as being the illegal author of anti-union practices (c.f. article No. 8433).
For AFL-CIO this is tantamount to T-Mobile imposing a gagging order on workers when...
