Having set up by an agreement of October, 2005, the European works council of Veolia Environment met for the first time, on September 21st, 2006, to undertake the election of the bureau and receive information on the financial situation of the group and the social policy. (Ref. 061002).
The plenary meeting of Veolia Environment (195 000 employees in Europe) which took place on the group’s campus near Paris, was preceded by a preparative meeting gathering workers’ representatives and followed by a report session on the next day. The deputy general secretary of the European confederation of services (EPSU), Jan Willem Goudriaan, attended the meetings.
