On 20th March, Packsize launched a machine called “Ultra5” exclusively for Walmart, which is able to detect dimensions of any item, cutting and folding cardboard packaging so that it fits a product perfectly. In the U.S.A., 12 of Walmart’s distribution centres have these machines : each one processes up to 600 customized packages per hour.
Amazon, which uses customised packaging since 2016 thanks to CMC Machinery’s automation technology, reduced the average weight of packaging used per shipment
