In the quarter to October 2016, the home electrical retailer Best Buy posted online sales up by 24% year-on-year, via increased traffic and higher average ticket. Online sales reached US$881 million, accounting for 10.8% of the total U.S. turnover. About 50% of the merchandise “sold” online was linked to store operations, as goods were shipped from one of the 1,400 Best Buy stores, or as clients collected them in stores via “click & collect” services.
