Carrefour’s sales grew by 2.7% in 2016, driven by Latin America (+16%) and European countries
such as Italy and Poland (+2%) at constant exchange rates.
In France (47% of sales), the turnover fell by 1%. Carrefour’s profit dropped, driven down by French hypermarkets sales falling by 1.5% last year. The Group suffered heavy losses in China. Priorities for 2017 are expansion into organic markets and convenient stores.
