On 15th September, TikTok (ByteDance) was fined US$367.2 million by the Irish Data Protection Commission. The reason was misuse of children’s information. Such user  accounts are set to “public” by default, allowing anyone to see their content (along with their recommended content in the feeds). Furthermore, the “family pairing” function, which allows adults to pair their account with that of their child (access to messages in particular), does not check parent or guardian status. TikTok...
