In mid-October, The Chinese delivery platform Meituan (which delivers for restaurants and retailers) was fined US$533 million for anti-competitive practices.
According to the regulator, Meituan (whose market capitalisation is still US$200 billion) forced merchants to sell exclusively on its platform, a practice known in China as “er xuan yi”, or “choose one among two”.
