The scope of Carrefour’s shareholders changed in January 2017, as the largest shareholder is now the Moulin family, owner of the Galeries Lafayette department stores. The family now controls 11.5% of Carrefour’s shares and 15.5% of the voting rights and are represented on the Board by Philippe Houzé, the son-in-law of Ginette Moulin, whose father created the Galeries Lafayette department stores.
